About

Welcome to my blog, The Paleo Librarian.

My name is Katherine, and I recently turned 25. It was around my birthday that I knew I wanted to make big changes in my life. For the first time, my anxiety was becoming more manageable without medication, and I was starting to love and appreciate myself much more than I ever had. I knew I wanted to take care of myself and love my body. After doing research, reading books and listening to hours and hours of podcasts, I was convinced that Paleo was the right choice for me.

I have always struggled with my body image and eating issues, and have tried many approaches to dieting in the past that all ultimately failed. Paleo is the first diet in a decade that I have felt strongly could work for me. I'm just beginning my journey, and am by no means an expert. And I'm definitely not perfect. I'm still figuring out what I can and cannot eat, how I can best treat my body, and how to exercise. I hope to share my experiences, challenges, and successes along the way.

As I said, I'm no medical expert. I have a Bachelor's in English and a Master's in Library and Information Science - far from any kind of nutritional or health background. I'm not prescribing or giving advice in this blog, but simply sharing my personal story. I do think Paleo/Primal/low-carb diets are the way to go for optimal health, but everyone is different, and should find what works best for them personally.

Currently, I am searching for library jobs, working, learning yoga, hanging out with my cat and boyfriend, reading as much as I can get my hands on, writing, and drinking with my friends. A lot.

Please feel free to comment or e-mail me at kcla.vaughan@gmail.com with any questions, and thank you for visiting my blog!
